Apple Pay comes to Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, and Colombia

Apple Pay has rolled out in Azerbaijan with support for cards issued by Kapital Bank, Bank Respublika, Unibank, and ABB in Azerbaijan. Alongside Azerbaijan, Apple Pay has been launched in Colombia and Costa Rica.

Apple Pay has confirmed that the service is now live in all three territories and has added Bank Respublika, Unibank, ABB, Kapital Bank, BancolombiaNu ColombiaBanco de Costa RicaBanco Promerica de Costa RicaBAC Credomatic de Costa Rica and Scotiabank de Costa Rica to the list of banks and payment cards it supports.

 Kapital Bank, Bank RespublikaUnibank, and ABB have all announced that the service is now available to their customers in Azerbaijan.

A few weeks ago Apple Pay made its debut in Bahrain. The company’s payment system has been a sore point of antitrust investigations relating to how Apple uses the technology, with bodies like the EU calling for the secure payment system to be opened up to competing payment services. Recent reports indicate the EU is set to charge Apple on the matter regarding anticompetitive behavior.
