The purpose of the event is to Inspire and Empower PASHA Group employees to support the innovation culture and find opportunities to create business value through the understanding of global best practices and learning from the unique experiences of thought leaders.
The Innovation Day event was accepted with interest and strong engagement from the audience, more than 60 employees from different businesses of PASHA Group joined the session hosted by two well-known keynote speakers Jeff Wallace, Entrepreneur and President of Global Kinetics, and Kal Deutsch, Investment Advisor, International Lecturer and Advisor at Global Kinetics. Speakers were sharing their experience on corporate innovations and showed the ways how to be a nimble like a lean startup.

Kal Deutsch is an international lecturer and advisor at Global Kinetics and Silicon Valley in Your Pocket, helping startup entrepreneurs and corporate intrapreneurs to achieve market traction. He has worked on innovation programs at global incubators, accelerators and corporations across the Americas, Europe and Asia. His programs hone in on the key drivers fo startup success, including go-to-market strategies, value proposition, growth hacking, business model optimization and financial metrics.
Kal is a founding Investor-Advisor and Partner at Batchery, a Berkeley-based startup accelerator. Batchery was founded by angel investors from Sand Hill Angels, and features partners from over a half-dozen different angel investment groups. Kal served as Batchery CEO and Managing Partner for the launch and scaling phase, during which time the company developed its core curriculum and mentorship program, signed up and graduated its first several company cohorts and achieved positive cash flow. Since launch seven years ago, Batchery has graduated over 180 companies in fields ranging from SaaS software, hardware, robotics, artificial intelligence, fintech, virtual reality, multimedia, food-tech and many others.
Kal has also served on the startup screening, due diligence and pitch event committees for the Berkeley Angel Network, an angel investment group comprised of alumni, faculty and former faculty of UC Berkeley. The Berkeley Angel Network fosters an investor community among the alumni and faculty of UC Berkeley, and improves the collective skills and knowledge of this community through angel investing programs and activities. He is also an Adjunct Instructor at UC Berkeley for Startups and Entrepreneurship.
With a background in finance, strategy and product management, Kal has held a number of executive positions at companies ranging from Fortune 100 companies to early-stage startup companies. At Visa he managed the consumer credit product portfolio and launched a companywide product development process. At Wells Fargo Bank he served as a division CFO and managed the strategic expansion of the banking network in retail stores, developed business cases for emerging fintech initiatives related to ATM, telephone and Internet banking, and contributed to the US launch of e-cash platform Mondex (acquired by Mastercard). Startups include real estate tech companies Homegain (acquired by Classified Ventures), EscapeHomes (acquired by HomeAway), and TotalMove (acquired by MostHome).
Kal leveraged his passion for independent film-making by producing a mockumentary film about a widely-maligned and failed Internet startup company called IceVan.com. This five-minute short was accepted into film festivals across multiple continents, including Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival. This fictitious company even became a case study in Kal’s curriculum.
Kal holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business with an emphasis in finance. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Management Science from UC San Diego. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.
Jeff Wallace is a long-time Silicon Valley resident who dedicates himself to serving the needs of companies, both locally and abroad, in understanding how to best deploy mobile technology and create an environment for innovation & disruption. Additionally, he consults with global startup ecosystems, including governments, corporations and startup accelerators, to help catalyze startup environments and to create a bridge for global startup entrepreneurs to Silicon Valley.

He is co-founder of Silicon Valley in Your Pocket, an online startup acceleration platform for global entrepreneurs, startup coaches and startup ecosystems to access Silicon Valley content, coaching & connections. He is also the former President & Managing Partner for and is a ounding Investor of Batchery, a Bay Area-based global incubator for seed stage startups founded by veteran angel investors. Jeff is an Entrepreneur in Residence for SKTA Innopartners where he mentors portfolio companies, sources new companies for the accelerator, conducts technical & financial diligence on new investments and expanding the contact network with other investors. Jeff is a SkyAdvisor and Investor at University of California Berkeley’s startup incubator, SkyDeck. He is a an Adjunct Instructor at UC Berkeley for Startups and Entrepreneurship as well as an Executive Board Member for the Rutgers Business School Road to Silicon Valley Program (RSVP).
Jeff was previously with Cognizant Technology Solutions and Brillio where he served as the founder of and Global Practice Head for the Mobility practices and also focused on Internet of Things (IoT) and user experience (UX) practice areas. Prior to this, Jeff was a serial entrepreneur having founded several businesses since the mid-1990s. In fact, Jeff was awarded the prestigious BridgeGate 20 Award, recognizing Jeff as one of the top 20 business leaders and “difference makers” in Southern California’s information technology and new media community. In addition, for many years Jeff served on the Global Advisory Board for the Enterprise Mobility Exchange and is a mentor and advisor to several Bay Area / Silicon Valley technology accelerators and their early to mid stage technology members. He is an active angel investor with equity positions in 150+ companies and an active advisor & investor at Berkeley SkyDeck, as well as a member of the Berkeley Angel Network. Jeff also serves as a Board member for Innovate Marquette SmartZone in Michigan where he helps support the entrepreneurial eco-system.
Jeff has performed keynote presentations at numerous international conferences and corporate events and worked on innovation programs at global incubators, accelerators and corporations across North, South & Central America, Europe, Australia and Asia. He has published many documents about enterprise mobility, user experience, Internet of Things and related topics. His presentations are geared to be relevant and compelling to his audiences. The topics he speaks about are very high on most companies’ priority lists and he strives to be thought provoking while simultaneously being practical, actionable and applicable in his perspectives and guidance.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Finance from Rutgers College and an MBA focused on Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Technology from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area enjoys the Silicon Valley lifestyle.
