Azerbaijan is undergoing improvements to its existing cashless payment system with the aim of facilitating the use of all types of payment methods in public transportation.

According to "Report," this was announced during the presentation of the "Digital Development and Deputy Minister of Transport's program for the transformation of mobility" by Rahman Huseynov.

Following the system's upgrade, it will support contactless technology, allowing payments through all bank cards and mobile devices: "Starting next month, payment with a bank card will be tested on several routes. After the tests, the initial implementation of the new payment system is planned at the end of the first quarter of the coming year."
