"Amazon concludes $4 billion investment in Anthropic. "

Amazon has concluded its $4 billion investment in Anthropic, solidifying its commitment to advancing generative AI technologies. Customers across various industries are leveraging Claude on Amazon Bedrock to transform user experiences, reinvent their businesses, and accelerate their generative AI journeys.

The collaborative effort between Amazon and Anthropic is just the beginning of their work to bring advanced generative AI technologies to customers worldwide. As part of a strategic agreement, Anthropic will utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its primary cloud provider for critical workloads, including safety research and future model development. Leveraging AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips, Anthropic will build, train, and deploy future models, ensuring AWS customers have access to the latest foundation models on Amazon Bedrock.

Earlier this month, access to Anthropic's powerful AI models, including the Claude 3 family, was announced on Amazon Bedrock. These models demonstrate near-human levels of intelligence, advanced reasoning capabilities, and outperform other models in areas such as math, coding, and vision. Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Data and AI at AWS, highlighted the transformative potential of generative AI and expressed excitement about the collaboration with Anthropic.

Global organizations, including ADP, Delta Air Lines, Intuit, and Siemens, are already using Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic's Claude AI to build generative AI applications. To further accelerate adoption, AWS, Anthropic, and Accenture are collaborating to help organizations in highly-regulated industries responsibly adopt and scale generative AI solutions, providing access to best-in-class models, capabilities on Amazon Bedrock, and industry expertise.
