The number of passengers paying for their fares through the new QR ticket payment system in the Baku metro has significantly increased since its full implementation on December 30, 2023. During the month of April, 257,198 passengers utilized this method, compared to 177,567 in March. On average, 8,573 passengers opted for QR tickets per day, marking an increase of 44.8% compared to the previous month's average of 5,723.
The "28 May" station maintained its record for QR ticket payments during the month, with 24,164 passengers. Similarly, at the "Gənclik" station, the number of passengers using this method exceeded 20,000, totaling 21,455 for the month. The widespread adoption of QR ticketing indicates a positive response from commuters to the new payment system introduced in the metro.
The highest number of QR ticket payments was recorded on the last day of April, marking the highest daily usage since the service was introduced, with 12,107 passengers opting for this payment method within a single day. This trend reflects a growing acceptance and utilization of digital ticketing solutions among metro passengers in Baku.
