The 81,000 sq meter facility, funded with $330M (2.4B yuan), aims to produce 10M flagship smartphones yearly.

Xiaomi has made significant strides in the realm of smart manufacturing with the unveiling of its fully automated production lines. Operating around the clock without the need for human intervention, these lines highlight the company's commitment to innovation and efficiency. In a recent video shared on social media, Lei Jun, CEO and founder of Xiaomi, elaborated on the capabilities of the system. He emphasized the intelligent nature of the technology, which can not only diagnose and resolve issues autonomously but also continuously optimize its processes to enhance overall productivity.

Central to Xiaomi's advanced manufacturing setup is the Hyper IMP (Intelligent Manufacturing Platform), which acts as the operational brain of their factories. This platform is designed to address challenges proactively and improve production efficiency. Jun proudly noted that Xiaomi has achieved full automation in 100% of its key production processes through the development of bespoke software tailored specifically for their manufacturing needs. This high level of automation allows Xiaomi's factories to function seamlessly, ensuring consistent quality and output.

The new facility in Changping, Beijing, exemplifies the cutting-edge technology employed by Xiaomi. Spanning 81,000 square meters and built with an investment of $330 million, this factory is set to produce up to 10 million flagship smartphones annually. Equipped with sophisticated systems, including a micron-level dust collection device and intelligent quality control machines, the factory can theoretically produce one smartphone every second. The upcoming models, MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip will be among the first products manufactured at this high-tech facility. This move underscores Xiaomi's dedication to integrating advanced automation and intelligent systems into its production lines, maintaining its position as a leader in the global smartphone market.
