Leading mobility platform Bolt is rolling out new electric vehicles (EVs) on the streets of Baku and other cities as part of its ambitious plan to deploy EVs across Europe. According to information received by Marja from the company, the Bolt app will feature over 20 premium electric vehicle brands, and nearly 300 zero-emission vehicles will be available in Bolt's Azerbaijan fleet.
Currently, this is a pilot project, with plans to add more vehicles next year. Naim Azizov, head of Bolt's ride-hailing service in Azerbaijan, stated that Bolt is committed to increasing the number of electric vehicles on its platform across Europe as part of long-term investments in zero-emission vehicles. The launch of this project in Azerbaijan is a significant step in this direction. By introducing new vehicles to the fleet, Bolt aims to meet the modern zero-emission transportation needs of the region. This pilot project not only supports Azerbaijan's green development goals but also reflects Bolt's commitment to creating environmentally friendly solutions in urban mobility. Bolt believes this service will help create cleaner cities by reducing emissions and acting as a driving force in the transition to eco-friendly transportation.
Bolt aims to become a zero-carbon emission company by 2040, and adding electric vehicles to its platform is a crucial step towards this goal. Most of Bolt's greenhouse gas emissions come from its ride-hailing services, and expanding its fleet with electric vehicles is vital to reducing these emissions. Bolt currently offers fully electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid cars in the "Green" and "Electric" categories in over 70 cities across Europe and Africa. Bolt's multi-application platform aims to make transportation more accessible, safe, and eco-friendly. With over 150 million users in 45 countries and 500 cities across Europe and Africa, the platform offers services including ride-hailing, car-sharing, electric scooter and bicycle rentals, and food and grocery delivery. More than 3.5 million drivers and couriers collaborate with Bolt worldwide, and the company currently operates its ride-hailing service in sixteen cities in Azerbaijan, including Baku, Sumqayit, Ganja, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Gabala, Shamkir, Sheki, Shirvan, Yevlakh, Guba, Masalli, Shamakhi, Jalilabad, and Gazakh.
