A recent study analyzed reviews of 1,500 popular apps on Google Play Store to identify the social media platforms with the lowest ratings in various countries. Conducted by the email tracking service Mailsuite, the research found that Facebook is the most disliked social media platform in 39 countries, making it the lowest-rated app in those regions. Reddit followed closely, being the worst-rated app in 30 countries. Despite this, TikTok emerged as the most loved app globally, ranking first in 30 countries.
In Europe, Reddit was the most disliked social media platform, with countries like Germany, France, Spain, and Sweden giving it the lowest scores among all social media sites. Although TikTok was the most popular app worldwide from 2018 to 2022, Instagram surpassed it in 2023, with 767 million downloads compared to TikTok's 733 million. This shift was largely due to the introduction of Instagram Reels, which mimicked TikTok's short video format, though it wasn't enough to significantly elevate Instagram's overall ranking.
In our country, the situation is slightly different. X, formerly known as Twitter, is the least liked social media platform, while Instagram is the most loved. Interestingly, in Turkey, X is also the least liked platform, but TikTok, rather than Instagram, holds the position of the most loved app.
